I don’t think it’s fair to call Nicky Hopkins a “member” or Scientology. all he did was take the Purif rundown when he needed help for drugs. They go around listing his accomplishments as “member of Scn” but it’s not correct. For the sake of Rock and roll let’s get it straight and free the awesome musician from their usage.

Nicky Hopkins died at age 50, he had married someone who’se son is the top guy at Flag (check out the NY Times obituary). He was probably alone and heartbroken, they never gave him any services (as a session player he wasn’t rolling in money …so they used him).

So yeah, they helped him during a rough patch but he was no member , juts like a lot of artists who took a course or so then ran when the “member” gustapo happened. Damn do his R.I.P soul a favor and take Nicky Hopkins off this list. I wonder why and how he died, at only 50, and a “step son” (sic top exec from the lorida top church) issued a statement to the New York Times?
